Agios georgios
 |
The beautiful village of Agios Georgios is built amphitheatrically at an altitude of 620 m and is located 22 km from Volos. It is set in a naturally gifted area with breathtaking scenery. Beyond the lush green landscapes that captivate every visitor, the mesmerizing view of the Pagasitikos Gulf leaves a lasting impression.
Exploring the village is a delightful surprise. The picturesque cobblestone streets and well-preserved stone houses transport visitors back to bygone eras. The alleys and rural paths also provide access to all the neighborhoods of Agios Georgios and the surrounding forests, filled with beech, chestnut, and plane trees, among others.
It is worth visiting the museum of the sculptor and engraver Nikolas, the churches of Agios Georgios (which houses the ecclesiastical museum), Agios Athanasios, and Panagia, as well as the monasteries of Taxiarches, Mega Sotira, and Agia Triada.
