Chania is a small mountainous settlement in eastern Pelion, built at an altitude of 1,200 m within a dense forest of beech and fir trees. It got its name from the old “hania” (inns) that hosted travelers. It is located 26 km from Volos.
Today, Chania is well-known for the Aghiolevkes Ski Center, one of the most popular and busiest ski resorts in Greece.
Apart from skiing, Chania offers visitors many other activities, such as hiking in the forest, where you can experience the beauty of nature up close.
In the traditional taverns of the area, you can taste local dishes such as spetzofai and fasolada.
