Xourichti is another small, stunning village in eastern Pelion. Approaching the village, visitors are captivated by the dramatic landscape, with winding roads and steep cliffs that inspire awe. Upon arrival, the view of the traditional settlement and the lush orchards surrounding the village creates a serene and welcoming atmosphere.
The area is also home to the Open-Air Theatre of Pelion, a true gem of the region, hosting remarkable cultural events every summer.
During your stay in Xourichti, it is worth visiting the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos, dating back to the 17th century. The church is adorned with post-Byzantine frescoes and features an impressive carved wooden iconostasis.
Xourichti is also the starting point for the impressive Koutra Gorge, the deepest gorge in Pelion. Additionally, following an old stone-paved path, you can walk all the way to Tsagarada, passing by a charming arched stone bridge along the route.
