Akrata is one of the most beautiful coastal towns in the Achaia region and serves as the seat of the municipality of the same name. It is located 71 km from Patras, the capital of the prefecture. The town is on a path of continuous development of its tourist infrastructure and occupies a particularly privileged geographic location, attracting visitors from the wider area.
It combines both mountains and the sea, making it an ideal destination for lovers of mountain landscapes as well as those drawn to the saltiness of the sea.
The beach of Akrata, along with the sandy shores of nearby coastal villages, attracts thousands of visitors every year. The mountainous areas, mainly in southern Akrata, also present significant tourist interest.
In addition to its beautiful coastline, during your stay in charming Akrata, you can visit the ruins of ancient Aigeira, located southeast of the town. Particularly impressive is the ancient theater, which during its peak was one of the most famous in the wider region.
It is also worth visiting the post-Byzantine Monastery of the Holy Trinity, dating back to the 18th century, which houses an important collection of religious relics and rare manuscripts.
Akrata offers hotels and guesthouses that provide accommodation with all modern comforts. In terms of entertainment, the options available cater to all tastes.
