Tsepelovo

Tsepelovo is another picturesque Zagori village in Ioannina. It is located 51 km from the city of Ioannina and is built at an altitude of 1,080 m. The village is hidden within the mountains and surrounded by dense forests.
In 1868, it served as the administrative center for the Ottoman authorities in Zagori. The first school in the village opened in 1700.
During your stay in Tsepelovo, it is worth visiting the Church of Saint Nicholas, dating back to 1708, and the Rogovou Monastery, which was built between 1028-1034 and renovated in 1745. Also notable are the churches of the Dormition of the Theotokos, Kato Panagia, and Saint Nicholas.
You will also be drawn to the impressive old mansions of the Kentrou, Papazoglou, Vazima, and Tsavalia families.
