Tolo

Tolo is one of the most popular coastal villages in the Peloponnese. Once a humble fishing village, it has transformed into one of Argolis¢ most beloved summer destinations.
Located 12 km south of Nafplio, most of its picturesque settlement is built along the inner curve of a beautiful bay, creating a scenery that is simultaneously charming, romantic, and undeniably idyllic.
Tolo boasts a stunning beach, which has played a major role in its fame throughout the region. Its crystal-clear waters, the extensive golden and fine sand—aptly named Psili Ammos (“Fine Sand”) Beach—and the well-organized facilities have made Tolo Beach one of the most cosmopolitan beaches near Nafplio. The beach also offers opportunities for a variety of water sports.
A boat trip to the two small islets within the bay is highly recommended. On the islet of Romvi, parts of medieval castle walls still remain, while the islet of Daskalio once hosted a sacred school.
Tolo offers accommodations ranging from hotels of all categories to rental rooms and apartments. Visitors of all ages come here: families and groups of young people alike enjoy the sea, sun, and natural beauty, dining at beachfront taverns serving fresh fish and seafood. When night falls, however, the rhythms of the village change: some prefer to relax while listening to the waves at a quiet seaside café or tavern, while those seeking entertainment can enjoy Tolo¢s lively nightlife, catering to all tastes.
Due to its strategic location, Tolo is also an ideal base for exploring the most important archaeological sites and historic monuments of Argolis, including Argos, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Ancient Asini, and Nafplio. During the summer, high-speed hydrofoil connections provide regular trips to the islands of the Argosaronic Gulf—Hydra, Spetses, and Poros.
