Drepano

Drepano is a beautiful village that perfectly combines lush mandarin groves with the stunning Plaka beach. It serves as the seat of the Municipality of Asini, which administratively includes some of the most popular coastal beaches in the wider Nafplio area, such as Tolo, Vivari, Kantia, and Iria.
Most of the traditional settlement is built on the rear side of the small hill of Mylos (Agios Nikolaos), with its back facing the open sea. A characteristic feature of many houses is that they are constructed on rocky terrain and very close to each other. The village, with its narrow, uphill streets, resembles an island. It is no coincidence that locals call the Drepano peninsula an "island," as it stretches 3 km and ends at the site of the ruins of the Venetian Castle.
During your visit to Drepano, it is worth taking a walk along the road in front of the town hall, which leads to a traditional stone windmill. Take a photo with the picturesque windmill in the background, a sight that evokes memories of the past for older visitors.
Drepano is a well-developed tourist area with hotels by the sea and traditional taverns where you can savor exceptional local dishes.
