During your stay in central Zagori, two villages considered the most beautiful in the area, will also win your admiration. They are Vitsa and Monodendri, villages with significant history and rich tradition, from which the trails that lead to the Vikos Gorge also start.
The descent into the Vikos Gorge is done through the trails. The gorge, along with the Voidomatis river, forms the core of the Vikos-Aoos National Park and holds the Guinness record for the gorge with the smallest opening in the world - just 1100 meters - and with a depth that exceeds 900 meters.
