Another suburb of southern Attica, Vári is famous for its grills. There isn¢t an Athenian who hasn¢t visited the renowned “Vlachika” of Vári. Here, you can enjoy spit-roasted lamb and kokoretsi, while along Vári Avenue you¢ll encounter traditional Vlachs (men dressed in the traditional fustanella) inviting you to dine at their taverns.
Vári is located very close to Voula, Kavouri, and Varkiza, so after a swim you can enjoy a meal at one of the local taverns.
In recent years, Vári has been developing rapidly, attracting more and more residents seeking a “mini” suburban escape, as it is only 30 km from central Athens. A walk through the streets of the Vári municipality will reveal the modern face of the area. Luxury single-family homes and apartment buildings, shopping centers, and a variety of stores all testify to the region¢s economic prosperity.
