Kandia is a beautiful Mediterranean village. The main road separates it from the eponymous beach. The picturesque village was settled after the Greek Revolution of 1821 by Cretan refugees. Shortly after, people from Arcadia also arrived, transforming the area from a seasonal grazing land into a vibrant village.
During your visit to the village, you will see the impressive tower house, a notable landmark of Kandia. This stately stone residence, known as the Aga¢s Tower, was once the home of the local aga.
The Kandia area has been inhabited since ancient times. On the hill of Agia Eleousa lie the ruins of the Acropolis of Kandia, dating back to the Mycenaean era.
Kandia Beach is one of the most beautiful in the Argolis region. Every summer it attracts many visitors, as the area offers not only natural beauty but also numerous hotels and rental accommodations.
At the beach, particularly at the mouth of the Asclepius springs, sea turtles and various species of fish can be found.
