 Anogi

Anogi is a hilly village 16km southwest of Vathi. It is the most ancient village in Ithaki. Really impressive are the prehistoric megalithic monuments, known as “Menir”, with highest Arakli rock, of 8m height. In the region you will see the remains of a medieval era, of mystical importance.
In the village you will admire the Venetian bell tower, while you can taste appetizers of the local cuisine and the glorious Ionian view in the traditional coffeehouse. If you are a lover of hiking, then take the path that leads to Kioni and enjoy nature.
The island’s heliport is in Anogi. From there you can reach mountain Niritos, the highest of Ithaki, In the village you will see the church of Dormition and the historic monastery of Kathares.
