Vourliotes

The village of Vourliotes is built in a privileged location, surrounded by lush vegetation and vineyards, offering stunning views of the sea. It is situated 18 km northwest of the capital. The village takes its name from its first settlers, who arrived on the island from Vourla in Asia Minor.
Among the local attractions, the Castle of Lazarus is a must-visit, featuring the remains of a medieval settlement and fortress. Another notable site is the Castle of Louloudas, whose ruins lie just 3 km from the village.
Vourliotes is also home to the historic Monastery of Panagia Vrontiani, founded in the 15th century, which houses a rare collection of Byzantine icons.
Just 2 km from the village lies the famous Pnaka Spring, a magical spot surrounded by dense vegetation and abundant flowing waters.
From Vourliotes, you can easily reach the beaches of Avlaki, Kampos, and Tsampou, making it an ideal base for exploring both cultural and natural treasures of the area.
