The enchanting Chora is built almost at the center of the west coast, where the ancient one was. The monuments reveal a lot about the rich past of this island.
The heart of the city is in Palea Chora, the castle-town with the paths and the Venetian Castle. The houses still have blazons in their entrances combining in a unique way the traditional insular architecture with the venetian fortification of a castle-town.
