Kompóti is a picturesque main village of Arta, located 14 km from the city. The village has been inhabited since ancient times. Not far from the settlement, an ancient tomb dating back to 300 B.C. has been excavated, along with figurines and coins from the same historical period.
Kompóti is also the birthplace of Nikolaos Skoufas, who was a founding member of the Filiki Eteria. The house where he lived has been preserved to this day.
During your stay in Kompóti, it is worth dining at the traditional grill houses, where local meats are served, cooked according to authentic recipes.
