Pertouli

Pertouli village is built amphitheatrically at the slopes of mountain Koziakas, inside a forest with tall fir trees. It is situated in a 1150 m height and it is 50 km far from Trikala.
Petrouli is an idyllic landscape. Alpine streams that create small lakes and rivulets inside the dense forest, high trees and rare flowers amaze all visitors.

Architecturally, Pertouli is a traditional village. It has stone-built houses with stone or tiled roofs.
Pertouli forest is one of the best preserved fir forests in Greece. It is a refuge for wild animals, like deers, wolfs, bears and rare species of birds. The Aristotelio University of Thessaloniki has undertaken the tourist utilization and promotion of this forest.

The locals, in their effort to keep morals alive, organize cultural events and traditional feasts all year around. The most famous is the annually organized "Andamoma ton Sarakatsanon", at the last May Sunday. This feast is a revival of old customs with traditional songs and dances.
