The village of Lithi is located on the southwestern side of the island, 23 km from the town of Chios. It is one of the famous Mastic Villages, renowned for its medieval architecture and the vast expanses of mastic trees, from which the fragrant Chios mastic is produced.
Lithi is built in a prominent position on a hill, offering stunning views of the sea. The combination of mountain and sea creates landscapes of breathtaking beauty.
It lies between Mesta and Vessa, two other equally beautiful Mastic Villages.
Lithi is the birthplace of our national benefactor Andreas Syngros. In fact, the village¢s primary school was built thanks to his donation.
Additionally, Saint Nektarios lived in Lithi for some years, serving as the village teacher. The house where he stayed still stands today and is considered an important religious monument for the village.
The coastal area of the region is Lithi Bay, with its eponymous beach stretching in front of the open bay. This idyllic beach, with its clear and calm waters, attracts thousands of visitors every year.
