Zachlorou is a stunning village built in a breathtaking location. It is situated in the Vouraikos Gorge, roughly halfway along the Diakopto–Kalavryta railway route, and is just 12 km from Kalavryta.
According to local tradition, the village¢s name comes from the Slavic word “Zaglorо,” meaning “behind the mountains.” Zachlorou was founded during the Ottoman era by travelers fleeing their villages in Epirus and settling in the Peloponnese.
