Hullo again, We went the weekend 14.05.2010 to Sirene. The Hotel is partially open since it’s not summer yet but this do not prevent the kindness of the staff. Your weekend starts with the smiling girls in the reception and continues with the extraordinary well putted services of the beach bar. Maybe the best place of the Poros Island, open sea, nice bar and on top you feel that you get the treatment you deserve. I must also note an incident that needs to be brought forward. A waiter purchased two Sunday newspapers – an important festive for a Greek thinking citizen, the Sunday newspapers – to a client because a wave practically overthrown the poor client’s things. We stayed for three days in the traditional guesthouse Roloi, last summer. The view is breathtaking; you have all the island’s bay and city in front of your feet. It’s very hectic to go up and down all day; you have walk a lot of stairs to reach the small hill were the guesthouse is located. Since I do not know if I am allowed to talk for pricing, well we paid a ridiculously huge amount of money for a couple days. I strongly believe that this type of guesthouses are extremely overrated, they charge 5 star hotel prices with no services at all. If you decide to stay there first be sure for the pricing that remains the same before and after the booking. Secondly, be aware that in August, people who visit Greece are more “wealthy” than the ones who visit Greece in July. This is how we could explain the price differences.
