Nice Hotel in Mandraki
The Porfyris is probably the best on the island and is undergoing some refurbishment. We stayed in May 2008 and enjoyed our time there. Hotel and rooms are very small but clean. Aircon is installed and works. Pool area is well laid out and the pool itself is OK but cold and salty. It was quiet when we went so there was enough sun beds available. Water will probably be OK in hotter months. Our only complaint is the downstairs pool toilets that are hardly ever cleaned for some reason? Very dirty and smelly with overflowing toilet bins! imagine the smell!! Breakfast is included in the price and is a nice continental buffet style. Staff are friendly and always helpful. No coffee makings in the room, so better to have your own kettle. Thankfully there is no crime on this island as the room keys are always left out on the front counter when guests are out of the hotel - very strange but normal practice I understand. This was our first visit but would return to the island and this hotel. Very pleasant island, nice people, very quiet and relaxing.
