The Castle of St Nicholas
The Castle of Oia, also known as the Castle of Saint Nikolas, dates back to the 15th century & was built during the Venetian occupation as a defensive fortress. Constructed mainly of lava bricks & stones with a volcanic origin on one of the highest spots of the caldera, the ruins of the castle consist of exterior walls that overlook Santorini's cliffs and the sea, cave houses, and other traditional buildings. Most houses have been fully renovated and are used as accommodation facilities. A part of the castle's old watch tower remains intact, although many structures were destroyed due to an earthquake in 1956. A small chapel that is carved into the volcanic rock and overlooks the Aegean Sea. also lies in the area. It is dedicated to Saint Nikolaos and was constructed around 1450.

Akrotiri Lighthouse
The archaeological site of Akrotiri in Santorini is one of the most important attractions of the island. Located on the southern side of the island, between the village of Akrotiri and the famous Red beach, this site is visited by thousands of visitors every year. Excavations on Akrotiri started as early as the 1870s by the French Archaeological School of Athens.
