Made for travelers who want the stories behind the stones. This private tour is built around ancient Athens, with more time at the places where democracy, philosophy and theatre began. Your English-speaking driver picks you up from your hotel, apartment or the Piraeus cruise port in an air-conditioned Mercedes-Benz. Start at the Acropolis with 90 minutes for the Parthenon, the Erechtheion and the Temple of Athena Nike, then take in the view from Areopagus Hill. Step inside the Acropolis Museum to see the original sculptures up close. Next, spend an unhurried hour in the Ancient Agora, where Socrates taught, with the Temple of Hephaestus and the Stoa of Attalos. Stop at the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the marble Panathenaic Stadium, then stroll through Plaka. Drivers don't guide inside the sites. Licensed guides are optional and subject to availability: choose the guide option for 3 hours of expert commentary at the Acropolis.
