Pass byThe history of this monastery is a little sketchy, in part because it was built by different people at many different time periods. Some evidence suggests the earliest construction may have begun in the mid-1300s, but the bulk of the monastery likely dates back to sometime around the 1470s.

All you need to do to access it, is to cross a sturdy stone bridge. The Monastery of Saint Stephen is also simultaneously one of the oldest and newest monasteries in Meteora.
