This tour visits two significant UNESCO World Heritage Sites that showcase key aspects of ancient Greek history. Start at Thermopylae, the famous narrow pass where in 480 BC, King Leonidas and his small force of Spartan warriors made a legendary stand against the invading Persian army, exemplifying courage and sacrifice. Next, explore Delphi, once considered the center of the world in ancient Greek culture. At this sacred site, you will see the Temple of Apollo, where the Pythia, the oracle, delivered her prophecies. Wander through the ancient sanctuary dedicated to Athena and the Treasury of the Athenians, which housed valuable offerings. The site’s rich archaeological remains, combined with stunning views of the surrounding landscape, reflect Delphi’s importance as a spiritual, cultural, and intellectual hub of the ancient world. This visit offers a deep appreciation of the traditions, religious beliefs, and artistic achievements that shaped Greek civilization.
