Chania: Try Scuba Diving For Beginners

Your experience begins at our PADI Dive Centre in Almyrida, where you'll meet your instructor, get fitted with your scuba equipment and receive a clear briefing before your first dive. We'll then travel together to the dive site, usually Koutalas, a sheltered bay rich in Mediterranean marine life. You'll enter gradually from the shore, get comfortable breathing through the regulator and practise essential scuba skills in shallow water before beginning your dive. Once comfortable, you'll explore underwater alongside your instructor. First-time divers generally spend around 35–45 minutes underwater, depending on individual air consumption. The dive is adapted to your comfort and ability, with a maximum depth of 12 metres. Look out for marine life including octopus, lionfish, moray eels, scorpionfish and colourful schools of fish. With a maximum of 2 participants per instructor, you'll receive plenty of personal attention throughout. Underwater photos and videos are included at no extra cost, edited and sent to you the same day. After diving, we'll return together to the dive centre in Almyrida.
