Travel through northwestern Crete, passing through Kissamos and following an off-road route along the Gramvousa Peninsula, with panoramic views. At the Balos parking area, begin a self-guided walk of approximately 20–40 minutes to reach the lagoon. Enjoy free time to swim, relax on the sandy beach, and take in the crystal-clear waters and scenery at your own pace. No trekking escort is provided for this part of the journey. On the return journey, enjoy elevated views of Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa Island. You may also opt for lunch at a traditional Cretan taverna in Kalyviani village. Lunch is optional and not included, and choosing the lunch stop will shorten your time at Balos Beach.
