Bicycle Around Corfu Town As A Local!

Our tour begins from nearby the New Fortress of Corfu town which is a Venetian fortress built on the hill of St. Mark in Corfu in stages, at the beginning of 16th century. The current buildings which exist within the fortress were built by the British during their rule of the island (1815–63). The Venetian fortifications were later expanded by the British and the French to help defend against a possible Ottoman attack.

Corfu Old Town is UNESCO World Heritage site. It has several influences from its Venetian, French, and British past. Its architecture is unique and not similar with any other place in Greece, as it is structured as a labyrinth of narrow, cobblestone alleys (καντούνια), peach and ocher coloured buildings and numerous antique churches.

Visit to Kanoni, from where we can see the famous two landmarks of Corfu, Pontikonissi and Panagia Vlacherena islets, as well as airplanes landing.

Mon Repos is a former royal summer residence a little outside Corfu Town. It lies south of Corfu City in the forest and exotix botanical gardens of Palaeopolis. Since 2001, it houses the small archaeoligical excibition of Palaiopolis

Visit Spianada Square

The Palace of St. Michael and St. George is an historic building in Corfu Town. Commissioned by Sir Thomas Maitland, it originally served as the residence of the British Lord High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands. It was built between 1819 and 1824, to a neoclassical design. The building houses the museum of Asian Art, various temporaty excibitions of greek painting and student projects of visual arts
