About Leontari
Leodari is located in the southeast end of Karditsa prefecture, 35 km from the town. It is a small traditional town with rich historic past.
The setlement is built on the slopes of south Pindos, while from the west side of it, is the Thessalic plain.
According to the archaeological findings, in this region flourished during the 4th BC the ancient Leodoupolis. During the Ottoman rule period the region was named Aslanar, which means Leodari (lion).
