About Lemnos

Lemnos is a beautiful island that presents archaeological and natural interest. The island's physiognomy has been determined by the two volcanoes, whose activity in ancient times marked the island's fate.
Throughout all historical periods, Lemnos played a leading role in the history of the Greek space. On the island, a notable culture was created, as seen from the ruins of ancient cities and significant findings from excavations.
Although a volcanic island, it has nothing to envy from the natural beauties of the other islands of the northern Aegean. On its flat areas, vines are cultivated from which the island's famous wine is produced. While the mountainous masses with their imposing black rocks, the steep hills and the rocky coastlines with their white sand create landscapes of unparalleled beauty.

Lemnos has an area of 477 km² and approximately 16,000 permanent residents. The island belongs administratively to the Lesvos prefecture and is located northwest of Mytilene. It has regular ferry connections with the ports of Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Mytilene, and Chios.
It also has an airport from and to which daily flights are operated that connect the island with all major cities and many islands.

In recent years, Lemnos has developed into a popular tourist destination. Thanks to its significant history, the important archaeological sites, the historical monuments and the monasteries it has, it attracts a large number of visitors. And of course, most of the island's summer residents visit it to get to know its dreamy beaches and spend unforgettable holidays in a beautiful and enchanting place.
The architecture of the settlements, the way of life of the residents, the options for activities and entertainment it offers, combine in a unique way the traditional element with modern amenities, captivating every traveler and turning them into a permanent admirer of Lemnos...
