About Thessaloniki

The prefecture of Thessaloniki borders to the north and northeast with the prefectures of Kilkis and Serres, to the west with the prefectures of Imathia and Pella, to rhe southeast with the prefecture of Chalkidiki to the south it is washed by the Thermaic Gulf and to the east by the Strymonic Gulf. The prefecture is one of the most highly evolved in Greece in terms of tourism infrastructure with numerous interesting sights, historic monuments, a casino and varied nightlife in the cosmopolitan atmosphere of a modern European city.

Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece and capital of Macedonia. It was built in 315 BC by the Macedonian King Kassandros. Rich cultural life, numerous museums and archaeological sites, amazing churches and vibrant nightlife make up the picture of the so called Nymph of the Thermaic Gulf.
