Kozani Town

Kozani is the capital of the regional unit of Kozani in Western Macedonia. It is located on a plateau at high altitude and serves as an important administrative, economic, and educational center.

The city is known for energy production in the wider region (lignite fields and power plants), as well as its cultural life, especially the Kozani Carnival, one of the most distinctive in Greece. It also features modern infrastructure and a university presence.

Kozani functions as a central hub of Western Macedonia, connecting surrounding cities and mountain areas.
