Plaka
About Plaka
Plaka is the oldest continuously inhabited district of Athens, located at the foot of the Acropolis. It is known for its narrow streets, neoclassical buildings, and traditional atmosphere that resembles the old town of Athens.
The area is a major tourist attraction, combining history, architecture, and culture. Plaka is home to museums, small churches, traditional houses, and numerous tavernas and shops that preserve its authentic character.
Due to its location next to the Acropolis and the historic center, Plaka is an ideal place for walking and exploring both ancient and modern Athenian history. It remains one of the most picturesque and lively neighborhoods in the city.
