This 3-hour immersive workshop is about: 1) Introduction to Iconography We start with a brief overview of the essential historical elements of Byzantine Iconography, the traditional materials used, and their deep symbolism. 2) Sketching the Icon We begin by sketching the "Angel of the Lord" onto a specially prepared canvas surface. Your creative journey starts here! 3) Expert Guidance Your instructor guides you through every step of the egg tempera technique. 4) Applying the First Layers & Cretan Break As we apply the base colors, it’s time for a short break. Enjoy authentic Cretan meze paired with local wine or raki. 5) Take Your Masterpiece Home We complete the icon step-by-step, explaining each stage of the technical process. Your beautiful, handmade icon is now ready to travel back home with you!
