Trikala of Corinthia is a beloved travel destination for short getaways, set in a region blessed with unparalleled natural beauty. In recent years, it has developed into a popular tourist spot, serving as the gateway to mountainous Corinthia and an ideal choice for nature lovers.
This charming mountain village of Kyllini is built at an altitude of 900 meters on the ruins of the ancient settlement of Mysaion. Trikala is divided into three districts: Lower, Middle, and Upper Trikala. In Upper Trikala, the 19th-century Church of Saint Nicholas stands out as the village¢s cathedral. In Middle Trikala, visitors will find the Monastery of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary, built in 1700, which unfortunately remains abandoned today. Continuing from Upper Trikala, the road leads to the historic Monastery of Saint Vlasios, traditionally founded in 1400 when the miraculous icon of the saint was discovered in a nearby cave. From the monastery, the view over the Sytheas River valley and the surrounding villages of Trikala (Manna, Stylia, Panariti) is breathtaking.
Trikala offers guesthouses and traditional inns providing comfortable accommodation for those choosing the village as their base for exploring the area.
