Farsala

Farsala is a city with a long and rich history, identified with the Homeric Phthia, the birthplace of the hero Achilles. Archaeological findings indicate that the area has been inhabited since prehistoric times and has a remarkable historical legacy.
The modern city stretches at the edge of the Thessalian plain, occupying the southern part of the Larissa region. It is located 46 km from the city of Larissa.
In the surrounding area, there are significant archaeological sites, including the ruins of Palaiofarsalos, the Nymphaeum, the sanctuary of Pan and the Nymphs, and a prehistoric tholos tomb excavated at the western edge of the city.
Farsala offers visitors a wide range of entertainment and activities. The city features hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes, and entertainment centers, as well as a large shopping area.
