 Korissia

Korissia is the central port of Kea. It is 5km northwestern of Chora in a safe cove in the place of the ancient homonym city.
Around the port is the settlement of Korissia with big tourist development. The region has now evolved to a popular summer resort. You will find hotels and rooms to let providing you a comfort staying. Along the coastal road and the graphic streets are many taverns, in which, among others, you can taste the local specialties. As for your nightlife there are bars with greek or foreign music.
Visit the hill of Agios Savvas and see the remains of the ancient city Korissia. Parts from the wall and architectonic members from later castles are saved.
In Korissia was discovered the famous Kouros of Kea in 1930. It is a unique sculpture of archaic period, exhibited in the archaeological museum.
Swim in the beautiful beach near the port that gathers a lot of people. If you prefer to be on your own, 2km away you will find a beautiful beach.
