The seaside settlement of **Askeli** is located 3 km northeast of the town¢s port. It experiences significant tourist activity due to its close proximity to the town as well as the area¢s abundant natural beauty, which attracts many visitors.
The picturesque settlement is built in a pine-covered area, while within walking distance lies its beautiful sandy and pebbly beach. It is an organized beach, also suitable for water sports. Near the beach, tavernas and cafés operate, and the area is also known for its vibrant nightlife.
In Askeli, you can also visit the historic **Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi**, built in the Kalavreia forest and dating back to the 16th century.
