Argyrades
 |
A village in southern Corfu, located 33 km from Corfu Town, serving as the seat of the Korissia Municipality. It lies on the road to Lefkimmi and is a beautiful Mediterranean village, where traditional elements are evident both in its architecture and in the daily life of its residents.
A stroll through the settlement, which has been officially designated a traditional village since 1977, will fill you with unique sights. Walking along the narrow alleys and passing under the characteristic arches, you feel as if you have traveled back in time, expecting to meet Venetian soldiers around the corner. Admire the well-preserved old houses and pause for a moment to listen to the local women exchanging news through their open windows in their distinctive melodic accents.
Very close to Argyra, you will find the settlement of Agios Georgios with its namesake beautiful beach. Considered one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in Corfu, it stretches from the border with Issos to Marathias. The open Ionian Sea, with its strong currents, ensures the cleanliness of its shores.
You can also visit the nearby seaside villages of Boukari and Petriti, the latter of which is also popular for fishing.
