The seaside village of Lagkada is located in the northeastern part of the island, 18 km from the town. It is one of the most beautiful villages on the island. Built at the head of its namesake bay, it combines the refreshing sea breeze with lush greenery. The surrounding area is covered with olive trees.
Lagkada is one of the few villages that were built close to the sea during more recent historical times. The village architecture follows traditional design patterns.
The picturesque village harbor leaves a lasting impression. Around it, many fish taverns operate, where you can taste fresh fish and seafood prepared with homemade recipes.
The locals, known for their hospitality, are engaged in fishing and agriculture, while in recent years many have turned to tourism. The area is rapidly developing and gains more admirers every year.
