Arkesini is a beautiful village in the south part of Amorgos. The locals name it Kato Meria. The scene here is different. Nature seems to calm and the hilly mountains have given their place to fertile valleys full of fruit trees. Here you will see only small settlements with agricultural character. Walking from Katapola or Chora to Kato Meria you pass from ancient Minoa and continuing you come to Kastri where are the remains of the ancient town Arkesini. In the same position are the small graphic villages Kamari and Vroutsi with many springs and the beautiful beach of Mouros. The road to Kato Meria continues to the cove of Kalotaritissa.
