 Goritsa

Goritsa is located in the northeastern part of Laconia, 10 km from Sparta. It serves as the seat of the Municipality of Therapnes and is the administrative and commercial center of the area.
The local economy is based on agriculture and livestock farming. The region is renowned for its olive cultivation and has a strong specialization in organic farming, both for table olives and olive trees. A notable example is the village of Kefalas, which has been dedicated almost entirely to organic olive cultivation since 1995, earning it the reputation of a “truly organic village.”
