Galatas
 |
Galatas is located opposite the port of Poros, on the Peloponnese coast, specifically on the southeastern coast of Argolis. It is a beautiful, lush, and idyllic town with stunning shorelines.
Throughout history, Galatas has followed a shared path with Poros.
Endowed with natural beauty and a rich past, it impresses its visitors. Here, you can see the ruins of Ancient Troizina, the birthplace of the hero Theseus.
One of the best attractions of Galatas and the wider area is the famous Lemon Forest. It is located to the east of the town. The densely planted hill with lemon trees, numbering over 40,000, not only offers a beautiful visual sight but also fills the area with the characteristic scent of citrus fruits. Especially in spring, when the trees are in full bloom, the fragrance of the lemon blossoms reaches Poros.
Near Galatas, and 1 km from Troizina, is the Monastery of the Kedharitomeni Theotokos, which, apart from its religious significance, offers a fantastic view.
Galatas is a well-developed tourist destination. You can visit it as part of a day trip from Poros, but it also serves as a place to stay. You will find hotels of all categories for your accommodation and many tavernas, cafés, and bars for your entertainment.
