Antiparos, this small, beautiful island of Cyclades, is located southwest of Paros just 1n.m. from her. The island’s ground is mostly lowland.
Antiparos has gained international fame due to its natural beauties, graphic settlements and the cave with the impressive stalactites and stalagmites. During the last years the island has evolved to a cosmopolitan summer resort. Celebrities - from all over the world – visit Antiparos and spend unforgettable holidays in its marvelous beaches.
Antiparos is the only settlement of the island. Locals also call it Kastro, due to its famous Venetian Castle in the region.
The settlement with the characteristic architecture of Cyclades islands, the narrow cobblestone paths, the graphic square and the remains of the venetian castle reminiscing of old times, are pictures familiar in almost every island of Cyclades.
But here in Antiparos the visitor can enjoy this beauty, the romantic strolls in the settlement and dream as he walks in the narrow paths of the settlement. And all that without being disturbed by the noisiness that other islands have.
Antiparos’ beaches are famous for their natural beauties and their clarity. Enjoy your swim in Psaraliki, the most famous beach in the island, Agio Georgi with crystal waters and Soro with a lacy shore. Very close to the settlement of Kasto are Sifneikos Gialos and Livadia.
Don’t miss touring around the island with the small boats. This way, you will have the opportunity to meet some of the “hidden” beaches in the island and visit islands Despotiko and Saliaga, which apart from archaeological and natural interest, have beautiful beaches.
Antiparos evolves rapidly to a dear summer resort for those seeking for some privacy. This, of course, does not mean that you will miss chances for entertainment. On the contrary, in the bars of Kastro you will have the time of your life. The local cuisine has a lot of specialties. In the taverns you will taste delicious traditional recipes. Access in Antiparos is by ferryboat from the port of Parikias and from Pounda.
