It is Agios Nikolaos of Evrytania, just 5 km from Karpenissi and only 15 km from the Velouchi ski center, where the civil engineers Drougos Dimitris and Vadakis Efthymis, elected to create a small traditional style hotel which has nothing to envy from the chalets of Austria and Switzerland…
They named their creation ‘'Casa di Neve'', a name not given by chance. It was chosen to depict the snowed (‘'neve'') landscape this village of Roumeli offers almost all winter long.
They set up their hotel in the centre of the village, by the square, facing the old church of Agios Nikolaos which dates back to 1887.
This hospitable hotel features 11 large two-level suites, as well as 2 apartments of 3 rooms each.
• All suites feature first-level living room with fireplace, that can double as a second bedroom, while the main bedroom is on the second level.
• Each apartment consists of three independent bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and a living room facing the centrally located fireplace.
Up to eight guests can be accommodated in each apartment.
The feeling of luxury created by the expensive wooden furniture, some lacquered, some with the old patina look, the handmade Persian carpets and the paintings on the walls has been combined with the extremely affordable prices.
‘'Casa di Neve'' also features a friendly and pretty ‘'cafe'', serving all types of coffee, warm drinks and home-made pastries, that can be enjoyed around the warm fireplace. At night the visitor can relax and have a drink or two under the sounds of the personally selected music. Next to the cafe , in an independent space, a "tavern" has been set up offering home-made delicacies and traditional barbequed meat dishes of Roumeli. The dishes prepare local women cooks and locals specialized in this type of cooking, using only fresh local meat and raw materials.
‘'Casa di Neve'' offers to its customers a range of amenities, such as room service, mini bar, telephone, television in every room, to ensure relaxation and enjoyment.
Along the same line, in the immediate future, the owners plan to create a Spa-centre, a multipurpose room equipped with personal computers, play – rooms for children and grownups alike.
