About Alonnisos
Alonissos is one of the most peaceful and naturally preserved islands in the Northern Sporades. Located in the Aegean Sea, it is known for its lush green landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and relatively low level of tourism compared to other popular Greek islands.
The island is part of the Alonissos-Northern Sporades National Marine Park, the largest marine protected area in Europe. It is home to the Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus), one of the rarest marine mammals in the world, giving the region exceptional ecological importance.
Alonissos combines natural beauty, tranquility, and an authentic Greek island experience. Visitors can enjoy traditional villages, hiking trails, and secluded beaches, making it an ideal destination for alternative and eco-tourism.
